The u3a Organisation

Third Age Trust

The u3a is a worldwide movement encouraging people in the “third age” of life (no longer in full-time employment or raising a family) to continue learning and living an active life.
It aims to enable members to pursue educational, cultural, recreational and social interests. The ethos of the organisation is one of self-help using the wealth of experience and knowledge of its members for the benefit of all.

In the UK the umbrella organisation for u3as is the Third Age Trust. The Trust supports local u3as in developing their activities. On their website you will find information about the u3a organisation and a wealth of material to help local u3a committees and groups.

Regional u3as

The Third Age Trust supports various regional networks and Farnham u3a is just one of 180 u3as in the South East Region.
We also belong to some smaller networks – these are Surrey Network and E Hants SW Surrey Network. These can be found through the South East Region link. We meet to swap ideas etc. and sometimes run regional workshops of interest to our members.
