Woven Tapestries

Decorative tapestries have been woven for centuries, and the art is still practised around the world though there are very few formal routes to learning the techniques. The aim of this course is to deliver a series of talks taking you through the history of woven tapestries (not embroideries), from the earliest recorded examples to the 21st century. There will be no practical sessions. We may also plan a trip if there is a relevant exhibition during the year.
